The Solution
Before you plan your group's solution to Canada's health problem, take a look at an example of a solution. A group of people living in Edmonton designed a program called "Prescription to Get Active" to improve the health of Canadians. While you are watching the video, answer the questions to help you understand it.

Design a Solution
It's your turn now! With your group, design a program that will promote active living to immigrants. Your program should include:
- an introduction to the problem
- a description of your program
- a description of how your program can help immigrants
- a description of how your program will promote healthy living or prevent diseases
- reasons why your program will work
Each group will present their program to their classmates. Make sure that everyone in your group contributes ideas to the presentation. You can go to the evaluation page to find out how you will be assessed for this project.
You are required to use a presentation tool. If you need help using the presentation tool, you can read the instructions by clicking this link. You can also take a look at an example that I made.
Roles and Responsibilities
In addition to designing a solution, your group needs to divide the responsibility for the design and presentation of the solution by filling these roles:
- Project Manager - provides direction and guidance, motivates the group to meet its goal(s), organizes research responsibilities, monitors participation
- Administrative Assistant - records group's ideas, organizes notes on any research that is done, ensures the timeliness of task completion
- Presentation Leader - ensures that the presentation has an introduction and a conclusion, prepares visuals for the presentation, advises group members on pronunciation and other speaking skills
- Peace Keeper (optional) - ensures that group members are getting along, manages conflicts, gives encouragement, keeps the group working together
